Expectations from the candidate:

As our project manager, your job will be to coordinate with people and processes to ensure that projects are delivered on time and produce the desired results. You will be the go-to person for everything involving a project’s organization and timeline. The candidate should have minimum 7 years’ work experience working as a Deputy Project Manager in Railway Industry.

Education Qualification:

Bachelor of Engineering or Equivalent (any stream)

Candidate with PMP® Certification shall be given preference (not mandatory)


Deputy Project Manager Duties

Specific project manager responsibilities include gathering of project requirements, developing detailed project plans, ensuring resource availability and allocation, stakeholders management and delivering every project on time within budget and scope.

Deputy Project Manager Requirements

Deputy Project Managers should have a background in Railways and Metro Rail related work experience, business skills, budgeting and business analysis. You should be an excellent communicator and comfortable managing multiple tasks. you also need to be a team player and have a problem-solving aptitude.


  • Develop a detailed project plan to track progress and coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical and commercial feasibility
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation and use appropriate verification techniques and processes to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs
  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques and gather and refer to the learnings from the project at different phases
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation and report and escalate to management as needed
  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks

You are just right for this role if

  • You have at least 7 to 10 years of professional experience in the railroad and metro sector and business management skills
  • You have experience of working with Track maintenance engineering teams
  • You have a bachelor's degree in engineering or similar (any discipline)
  • You have a PMP® certificate (not compulsory)
  • You are familiar with budgeting and business analysis
  • You have experience of preparing Project Management plans and related PM document
  • You are a good communicator and enjoy multi-tasking
  • You are a team player and have problem solving skills
