AI Research Intern

Duration: 3 months (part-time or full-time)

We are looking for a motivated AI Research Intern to join our innovative team. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to explore state-of-the-art deep learning models and gain hands-on experience in computer vision algorithms.

Our core technology involves Fiber Optic Sensing. Imagine a 'microphone' placed at regular intervals along a 100 km fiber optic cable, measuring noise and vibrations at an high sample rate. Each sensor generates about 100 MB of data per second. We convert this enormous volume of data into a form resembling 'images' illustrating noise and vibration intensity across both time and distance, thereby presenting an unparalleled playground for AI and computer vision research.

Your main roles and responsibilities

• Participate in research projects focused on cutting-edge techniques and specialized computer vision algorithms optimized for fiber optic sensing data
• Assist in the design and development of algorithms and architectures for problem-solving in computer vision
• Collaborate with AI Researchers, ML Engineers, and Product Managers to bring new ideas from concept to implementation
• Contribute to an agile, international development team through planning sessions, daily stand-ups, and reviews

You are just right for this role if

• you currently pursue or have recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science or a related field
• you have a basic understanding of AI, machine learning and computer vision concepts
• you are familiar with Python and at least one deep learning framework such as TensorFlow or PyTorch
• you have strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn
• it is easy for you to communicate in English - both written and verbal - with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
